What is the MALC Award of Excellence?
This award honors individuals or groups in recognition of significant contributions of time/effort made in support of the library community in the Memphis area. This year’s award(s) will be given at the Annual MALC Membership meeting on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at U of M’s McWherter Library.
The deadline for nominations was April 5, 2024. Nominations are now closed.
Award Criteria:
- Nominee must be a librarian, library staff member, or library supporter/friend (individual or group) in the Memphis area.
- Nominee must have made outstanding contributions to their library, the profession, and/or the library community.
- Nominee need not be a MALC member, but nomination must come from a MALC member.
- Nomination categories are: Classic Award, Legacy Award, and Friend Award
- Nominees for the Classic Award must have contributed as a library employee for 1–5 years.
- Nominees for the Legacy Award must have contributed as a library employee for more than five years.
- Self-nominations are welcome.
